I grew up here in Washington, and began climbing in 1996 when
I started rock climbing as well as a mountaineering course at my High
School under mentor Tom Hudson. The next few years were spent learning
the ropes of general mountaineering. In 1999 I took the Intermediate Climbing
Course from the Boeing Alpine Club. A whole new world of opportunity in
the mountains was suddenly opened up to me. I was introduced to the peaks
of the rugged North Cascades, as well as the fun and challenge of alpine
rock climbing. I was able to climb with more experienced partners as well
as climb with new friends of equal ability.
More recently I've been pursuing many of the "classic"
lines of the Cascades, as well as searching for all those spectacular
routes where the weekend crowds are absent. I've also been a member of
Seattle Mouintain Rescue since 1999, and now help instruct the Boeing
Alpine Club's Intermediate course.
